How to Host a Blog or a Website? Let’s see how I hosted my personal site AGS-Engineering.gr .
First of all I have to remind you that a site to be viewable and available to be explored it has to be hosted somewhere i.e to be saved (its total data) in a server.
So when someone hits our domain in any browser, he asks in fact from the server that we host our site to show it to him so to have access to see it.
I have to re-mention Here, that I chose Hostinger.gr webhosting provider cause :
a)They offer a FREE hosting(for educational reasons) account with services that other providers charge for,
b)They have very good service with fast responses even in their FREE packages,
so there’s nothing better for us to take advantage of the opportunity to host for FREE our website till we have fully set it up.
Let’s see now the steps…
a)Click to change subdomain to DOMAIN.
b)Type your domain with its suffix (.net, .gr, .com etc).
c)Type and re-type(confirm) a password for your new domain’s hosting account.
6.Type the reason you chose the FREE account or COPY_PASTE the following text:
To set up it correctly for educational reasons till i upgrade to the next level. Thank you.
Then click inside the captcha box to confirm you are not a machine.
Click on your domain to see its options.
(Or you have the ability to create a New hosting Account)
Well Done. Now we are able to see next to the number 1 our hosting account’s name.
Also NOTE that we haven’t set up our nameservers yet, that is to say
the IPs of the server that we host our content of our website. So, although we have uploaded the content of a blog or site to the server, if we don’t set the nameservers we will not be able to reach this content or our website. That’s why we see the pinky message that our domain name does not point to the hosting provider’s nameservers.
This task follows the creation of hosting account and will be shown and explained analytically in our next post.
Thanks for watching us!
